may favourites...

Before I start this post I just want to thank everyone who commented on my last post! I'm very lucky and grateful to have such lovely followers who are always there with a bit of moral support when I need it. I'm also glad you all like the new layout!

I thought I'd start a new monthly favourites feature; I know a lot of bloggers do them but I love reading them and noseying at other people's favourites and getting some recommendations so thought I'd add my two cents about what's hip and happenin' in Helen land! (God I'm cool.) First up this month is a couple of hair products I'm really enjoying at the moment. I picked the shampoo up a couple of weeks ago in Bodycare for just £1, and it is hands down the best shampoo I've ever used. Ever since I dyed my hair back blonde I've been trying to get it back to the condition it was before and this shampoo has definitely helped! It has almond and coconut which are very nourishing and I actually think I can feel it working when I use it which is a plus. It lathers loads too which is great!

I seem to have to blow dry my hair whenever I wash it lately as I'm growing it and it's got to that odd curling at the ends stage which I hate. This heat protection spray has definitely made this easier though; I spray it on all over and scrunch it through my hair then use my hairdryer and I haven't noticed any damage to my locks at all! I also got this in Bodycare but I'm not sure how much it was; maybe about £3?

Lisa mentioned her St Ives scrub a little while ago and how much she loved it which prompted me to dig mine out again! I've used St Ives products since I was about thirteen and I still love them now; especially the scrub. I've been using this every other day or so in the shower and it leaves my skin feeling baby soft and much cleaner than when I just cleanse. I really feel it does a good job of cleaning pores out too!

I've also been loving this Intimately Beckham perfume! A friend was wearing a gorgeous perfume a little while back and when I asked her what it was, she said it was a Victoria Beckham fragrance. I'm not convinced this is the same one but it was just £10.95 for 50ml on Fragrance Direct so I snapped it up and it's absolutely lovely! It's a little different to the sweet perfumes I usually go for and has a bit of an edge to it; it also reminds me of another perfume quite strongly - I think it's Dior Poison!

I adore the Estee Lauder MagnaScopic mascara; I got it in a set in duty free last year but didn't start using it until probably late last year but it's amazing! One coat and your lashes are perfect for the day time or if you're like me and more is more then three coats give you a stunning 'Twiggy' look. Definitely tempted to purchase some more this year!

Finally, the Urban Decay Naked palette which everyone and their great aunt has. I got this from my dear old Granny for my birthday as there was an offer on at Debenhams and it was about £32 I think. I won't bang on about it too much as everyone has it but I absolutely adore the colours and the longevity of them too! The colours are all very complementary and I wouldn't be without it now.

What have you been loving this month?

roll up, roll up...

... and welcome to the new half the world away! I've decided to relaunch my blog as a complete fresh start, with a new layout and deleting all of my old posts. I have coped with mental health problems for a few years now but in the past six months or so I have been affected particularly badly, a reason for which my heart was no longer really in blogging and I think this really showed in my posts. However, I have just finished my second year at university and I turned twenty yesterday (but if anyone asks I'm still a teenager!) and I am determined that this will be the year I turn things around; something I want to reflect on my blog. So today marks a new start for me, and for my blog, and I hope you'll stick around and follow my journey in clothes, shoes, make up and happiness!

For any new readers, you can find out more about me here, or feel free to tweet me @heleneveline :)

What do you think of the new look?
